Yeah it can do because if you chew food slower and for longer then just swallowing it down it doesn't give time for your brain to tell you that your stomach is full so you eat more,it also makes it harder for you to go to the toilet as it's still a large chunk of food when it's down there where as chewed food is easier to digest and comes out softer (sorry to make it sound bad) you can get.
